Matt Price in the colour supplement of “The Australian” has a particularly sycophantic wrap on ALP frontbench lightweight Julia Gillard. One thing he did get right, however, was one of the opening lines “Some would argue that Julia Eileen Gillard……..represents everything that’s wrong with the Labor party. Her pre-parliamentary career might be found in an ALP textbook under “A” for ambitious political operative.” (Sorry no link).
Price has beaten her up before- praising her performance attacking Phillip Ruddock under privilige while Opposition Immigration spokesthing; I saw the attack, and found it to be reminiscent of being savaged by a sheep.
He goes on to reveal her past- a “partner” at Slater and Gordon, a Melbourne law firm made up of the most shameless self promoting ambulance-chasers ever to blight continental Australia, now facing bankruptcy after their disastrous tilt at British American Tobacco over the Reba McCabe civil matter.
He was bang on about her representing everything that is wrong with the ALP (and the Greens and the Democrats for that matter); she is another hack lawyer of limited ability with huge ambition, who knows her only chance at power and wealth is to slither through the parliamentary system.
It would appear she is being put up as the next Carmen Lawrence, the necessary female to lead us all out of the mire of male warmongering and fiscal responsibility to a brave new caring, sharing and nurturing nation.

When’s Price going on leave again? I much prefer his replacement; I’m sure a brief bio of Julia by Tim Blair would have been more balanced and reasoned, but not as funny.

I’m now on Mike Moore’s mailing list, and will link some of his more idiotic pronouncements; today Blobbie Boy is bewailing the plight of the poor at the hands of George W. Bush, while deriding the advice of “get a job” given to protestors by senior Republican Ron Eibensteiner- those three words would do more to change the situation of most of these whiners than any number of Federal programs.
Meanwhile, man of the people and representantive of the down-trodden Mikey has to weave his way around bums and beggars on his way to the bank to deposit another royalty cheque.
Ironically, a large amount of Moore’s income would come from the poor and oppressed whom he purports to represent; who else (besides spoiled young bolsheviks who hate their mum and dad, and really resent having to drive a Porsche when people are starving) goes to his movies and reads his venal prose? People who supposedly can barely afford to clothe, feed and house themselves are funding a multi-millionaire who has done nothing for them except whine about their situation, and call George Bush a knob-end.
Who’s really the arsehole here?

No doubt the Greens, Democrats and Labor will fight this tooth and nail, as it may save taxpayers some money by preventing those who have no entitlement to Medicare from accessing the system. I would like to see the whole thing go, but this is unlikely to occur; if access can be limited to Australian citizens, it’s a step in the right direction.
Just in: Greens leader Bob Brown has issued this statement- “We of the Greens are fervently opposed to this proposal. In fact, we want the electoral act changed, so non-citizens can vote. It is discriminatory that not only illegal immigrants, but trolls, pixies, fairies, dwarves, gargoyles and other oppressed folk-lore minorities are denied the vote, and are to be denied access to Medicare. The only way we have a hope of taking over democratically is if fantasy beings and people who shouldn’t be in the country can vote for us- the only party that represents the fictional.”

If you were wondering why the release of the detainees from detention last week was hailed as such a success by the media and the reffo rent-a-crowd, it has come out who they are; yup, that’s right, those wily little embassy invaders, the Bhaktiari Boyz! Seeing as they were used as THE example by these clowns (and proved to be frauds), any success is better than complete failure in the eyes of dickheads such as Ian Rintoul.
The fact that they are to be deported as soon as Mum has whelped doesn’t deter the whooping from advocates- at great public expense, and at a loss of credibility of the Federal judiciary, they have made a point of some kind (shortly to be overturned at further public cost in the Federal court).

Today’s column in “The Australian” reveals that Phillip Adams has lost what little was left of his tiny mind.
In the magic pixie world that is the Phat Phuck’s dementia addled synapses, the myth of the Miami electoral college is true, Al Gore is a neo-conservative (about as much so as Abbie Hoffman, but not as sane or stable as Abbie), the US is running amok on the world stage, hence the annexation of Sweden to stop them competing in the porno trade, and the invasion of Canada to sieze all their high-tech assets; furthermore he hankers back to the good old days where the fascist and imperialist USA was held in check by the USSR and China (you know, when they had the good guys like Breshnev and Mao running the show).
I can understand the ABC still airing his inane and atavistic diatribes (after all, the ABC would view Phil as being “a moderate”), but what the fuck is the fat anti-US wealthy communist cunt doing still being published in a national broadsheet?
sure it’s good for laughs, and “The Australian” doesn’t have a comics page, not even “Beetle Bailey”, (although it does have “Doonsbury”, which Fat Boy would regard as right-wing propaganda); but even so, a dinosaur like Adams should know it’s time to head for the tar pit.
